The Last Flight of the Garbage Cannie
The B17 bomber "Garbage Cannie" had been reported missing since March 1945 and was only rediscovered in 2022. Not far from the island of Vis/Croatia, the heavily damaged bomber crashed into the sea during its approach to the military airfield on the island of Vis. In April 2022, our expedition was able to dive to the aircraft wreck at a depth of 115 meters. We discovered an almost intact wreck, a unique testimony of its time.
