Dive Light DC 710

The extremely popular OrcaTorch D710 dive light is the basis for a series of variants. Besides the D710, there is the D710V specifically for underwater photography and videography, the ZD710 with adjustable beam width, and the DC710, which can be mounted on the WS02 wrist strap or the H620 Goodman handle. So, if you want to have both hands free while diving but still want a bright dive light, the DC710 is the right choice for you.

The OrcaTorch DC710 is quite similar to the D710 in some ways. When switched on, the DC710 produces a bright, narrow (6°) beam of 1700 lumens, which can be boosted to 3000 lumens by holding down the switch of the DC710. Alternatively, by simply pressing the switch, the normal lumen output of 1700 can be reduced in two steps to 800 lumens or 400 lumens. While it burns for an hour and 40 minutes at 1700 lumens, its burn time can be extended to 3 hours and 40 minutes at 800 lumens or even seven hours and 40 minutes at 400 lumens. For this purpose, the DC710 is equipped with the powerful 5000 mAh 21700 battery.

The difference between the D710 and the DC710 dive light is not only the possibility of connecting the DC710 to the WS02 wrist strap or the H620 Goodman handle. Charging is also different: the DC710 does not need to be opened for charging. The USB-C charging port is hidden under a 3 cm wide ring on the outside of the DC710. Turning the ring counter-clockwise moves it downwards and exposes the USB-C port. Above the port, two O-rings are incorporated for protection against water, one of which is deliberately red: just to make sure that the ring is really closed before entering the water. Keeping the USB-C port dry requires a little more attention from the diver, but if you handle your equipment carefully, this should not be a problem.
