In the Open Water Diver course, you will learn the fundamentals of recreational diving. You will learn how to assemble diving equipment, how to properly adjust your diving equipment, and how to use it safely. The Open Water Diver (colloquially OWD) allows you to safely dive into a completely new world. To be able to move safely underwater, you will of course need to learn how to position yourself correctly in the water, how to use fins, how to properly weight yourself, and many other things.
To dive safely, you must also learn dive theory. This includes gas laws, what happens to your body underwater, and how long you can stay submerged. With IANTD, you will also continue to learn how to work with dive tables, but of course also how to use a dive computer. Tables are important for your understanding of dive planning, no-decompression limits, and planning repetitive dives.
A special feature of IANTD is the introduction to cold water configuration, which significantly increases the dive time, especially in our dive lakes. Both theoretical and practical units are much more extensive than in pure sport diving associations.

With the OWD, you can also learn the basics of Nitrox diving in combination. Nitrox offers you more safety and allows you to extend your time underwater. Here too, you will clearly see and understand the benefits of Nitrox using tables, and what possibilities this mixture offers you.
How deep can you dive with the IANTD Open Water Diver & Open Water EANx Diver course?

When diving, it is important to be able to read your instruments well. Your glasses do not fit under the diving mask.
If you have a significant visual impairment, you can order a diving mask with prescription lenses from us. If you wear contact lenses, you must close your eyes when you remove your mask underwater.
If you have specific diving interests, then take a look to see if there's a specialty course for you.
For example, if you'd like to photograph or film underwater, are interested in wrecks or sidemount, or simply want to improve your buoyancy. Maybe there's something there for you.
If you want to start a Tec diving course, you will definitely need a valid diving medical certificate and diving insurance (DAN, Aquamed, etc.). For the Advanced Nitrox or higher, you'll need the Deep and Nitrox certifications, and of course, the recommended equipment for the course. You can also rent some of this equipment from us.
