Wrecks are like fascinating windows into the past. Every wreck offers many opportunities to discover something special, perhaps even to solve a mystery surrounding that wreck. Wreck exploration requires the use of reels and spools, as well as solid dive planning; you'll learn this in this course. Wrecks don't necessarily have to be sunken ships; even in our area, there are interesting historical underwater sites, such as the legendary "Edersee Atlantis" or the outpost boat in Messinghausen.

What is the purpose of the SSI Wreck Diver course?
As a diver, you should get to know the environment in which you dive. Wreck diving has different requirements than, for example, drift diving or deep diving. In the SSI Wreck Diver course, you generally learn about ship types, wreck types, but also about the specific requirements and dangers. This allows you to dive a wreck more safely.
What is the difference between the SSI Wreck Diver and SSI Advanced Wreck Diver?
The SSI Wreck Diver course lasts 1 day with 2 wreck dives, and you do not penetrate the wreck.
The SSI Advanced Wreck Diver course lasts 2 days with 4 wreck dives, and you also learn how to safely penetrate a wreck, navigate in an overhead environment, and orient yourself in a wreck using line drills.
How long does the course last?
Wreck Diver: 1 day (e-learning theory in advance and on site) 2 wreck dives
Advanced Wreck Diver: 2 days (e-learning theory in advance and on site) 2 wreck dives, line drills
Additional costs: Teaching materials and certification, entrance fees, possibly rental equipment

Important Notes on Our Diving Courses
To go diving, you must be healthy. If you can answer all of the medical questions below with no, then you can go straight into the water. If not, then you need a diving medical certificate from a doctor.

When diving, it is important to be able to read your instruments well. Your glasses do not fit under the diving mask.
If you have a significant visual impairment, you can order a diving mask with prescription lenses from us. If you wear contact lenses, you must close your eyes when you remove your mask underwater.
If you have specific diving interests, then take a look to see if there's a specialty course for you.
For example, if you'd like to photograph or film underwater, are interested in wrecks or sidemount, or simply want to improve your buoyancy. Maybe there's something there for you.
If you want to start a Tec diving course, you will definitely need a valid diving medical certificate and diving insurance (DAN, Aquamed, etc.). For the Advanced Nitrox or higher, you'll need the Deep and Nitrox certifications, and of course, the recommended equipment for the course. You can also rent some of this equipment from us.
